Done with ANIMATION!!~

It always feels great when that HUGE burden just leaps off your back. I was literally stayed up 3 days straight just to finish my animation and study other finals for my college. I never thought I will get the digital animation done in time, but I guess I was wrong of myself. The total length animation is only 1 minutes long, so many scenes had to be cut out. If I had time I definitely would have add more action scenes and better animation (my actual goal length of the animation was 1 min 30 seconds, but my instructor told me that it can be suicidal, since doing 1 minutes 2D animation in 4~5 weeks is tough enough, doing 1min 30seconds of animation is THE WORST CASE SCENARIO). I am not 100% satisfied with my final animation, because I feel like I could have add or done better. Now that I finished 4 classes, I have only 1 final project left, and funny how I want the final project to be animation again ^_^; I'm such a masochist. Animation Progress

3 weeks till the deadline, and I still need 1 more minute animation to be done... Hope I can make it. I once completely wasted my time trying to upload my animation to on art site. I exported my mov file to Flash and published it as a swf file. Of course I watched the preview first and the animation did played on my preview window. But when I put it on other site such as DeviantArt, the animation just stays white screen. My swf file is only 60 kb since it's only 30 seconds long but I spent hours just trying to figure out why it isn't working... Oh wells, hope I could find someone who's ActionScript experts if they know how to make flash play automatically. I might eventually learn ActionScript since I really want to learn how to play, pause, scene select, or add buttons that perform different action etc.

Codes, where art thou?

Anyone remember making a website with a BBedit App?

Well it was definitely ONE of a kind of experience. During my freshman year in SAIC, I was assigned to make a personal website with my art gallery.

It was TOUGH.

I had no experience how to work with codes.

Now the problem is that my laptop needed a new ADOBE software which required to delete all my personal files on my laptop and I have no freakin clue where my BBedit code went. I looked everywhere in my portable hard drive but still had no luck to find the code for my website. Even still if I had the code it would some time to refresh my memory how certain code works

More sketches while I'm awake

It's been more than a month since the beginning of my Fall semester here in college. For some odd reason I get only 2 hours of sleep per day, no clue why so far but I assume it's just an ordinary anxiety. I'm quite enjoying my classes so far, especially my Intro to 2D animation class. I always been interested to learn digital animation, such as learning After Effect software.

I've been actually been doing some draft on what animation I'll be making for the final (since SAIC is always about "concept" which is damn annoying and they consider digital artwork "commercial" art and looks down upon it which is ludicrous) I wanted to go for chase scene but I decided to do Steam Punk theme. I might be putting some drawings on the blog but right now I need to concentrate to do essays for my liberal art classes =(

Internship during Summer '10

I had a real blast this Summer. I actually had a chance to have internship game studio called "Action Seed," in Korea, as a concept artist. That's right, I actually had a chance to design a monster for the future upcoming MMORPG!!~ This is like dream come true, and I'm actually made one step further to my dream. I'm not allowed to tell what this MMORPG is (the game company did not even revealed gameplay trailer on the site) but think Dynasty Warriors and Diablo 3 mated together... that's how much detail I can give ^_^;

Surprisingly the Art Director told me that he will actually use my monster design for the game! More Dream comes true!~ So yeah that's what's been keeping me veeeeeeeeeery busy. For past months I've been preparing various portfolios for this game company which also explains why I did not updated for a long time. Also the people I am working with are veterans of concept art (some of them have 10 years of experience as a game concept artist and one of the concept artist actually worked for Lineage)
I learned a lot even though it was a month experience. It was sad when I had to say goodbye to the team. But they gave me the gift that cannot be trade with anything. ^________^

So the monster I designed is called "Hunger" or Shig-Gyi (식귀) in Korean According to Eastern mythology or legend, Hunger is an accursed undead spirit that roams around the world, devouring anything in sight(basically this undead is known for stomach of bottomless pit) The undead spirit is cursed with insatiable hunger for being gluttony in his or her past. OR simply call it Asian Zombie. I had so much designing this monster but yet challenging since I never made video game art quality concept art in my life.
